CMET is located in the city of Lucknow about 500 kilometers from Delhi, the national capital of India and is well connected to it through air, road and rail.
CMET Lucknow was founded in 1999 by Capt Noor Iman Beg, an Ex-Rajendra having more than 30 years of experience in the shipping industry with a objective of imparting high quality of Maritime Education and training.. CMET Lucknow has distinction of being the first Institute in North India to start Fire Prevention & fire Fighting (FPFF) and Advance Firefighting (AFF) courses. All courses conducted are in compliance with STCW Convention 1978 as amended set by International Maritime Organization.
Campus and Residential facilities
The campus area is spread over 4 acres with facilities, parade ground for indoor and outdoor academic and extracurricular activities etc. CMET also has a large swimming pool (85x65x11 ft.) for swimming and water related exercises/drills. The institute building is of modern architecture with classrooms fully equipped with all the latest teaching aids like Overhead projectors, internet / WIFI facility ,Television sets/ over head projectors for Computer Based Training (CBT’s).
The institute is providing excellent accommodation facilities for trainees. Institute have 22 air conditioned rooms available on single and sharing basis for officers and their families undergoing training at CMET. CMET also have 2 dormitories for candidates doing advance courses and 6 dormitories for trainees in basic and pre sea courses.
CMET prides itself on having the largest and highest mock-up for Fire Fighting exercises in its campus, built for conducting courses like AFF and FPFF in a realistic environment also installed IRS approved.
CMET, Luck now is presently offering 36 DGS approved courses including General Purpose Ratting course. OCCP and few other specialized courses are expected to start in the coming months. The details of all the courses are available separately in Schedule of courses
Up-gradation Courses as per STCW Convention 1978 as amended
With the advent and implementation of STCW Convention 1978 as amended Regulations, CMET has made required changes in the training curriculum and has geared up to start the following Up-gradation courses :
- Advanced Fire Fighting
- Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats
- Personal Survival Techniques
- Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting
CMET has made the necessary changes and installed the required equipments to issue STCW 1978 as amended based Fire Prevention and Fire fighting training course.
CMET Marine Medical
DG Shipping / ILO approved Medical Examination facilities are available at CMET Marine Medical, with modern medical equipment at well appointed CMET Medical center. It provides medical check-up of fresher’s as well as the seafarers on a regular basis.

CMET has a commitment to impart quality training. The Institute is ISO 9001:2008 Quality certified by Lloyd’s and rated as a ‘Good institute’ by CRISIL Grading. All the courses offered at CMET are approved by the Directorate General of Shipping, Government of India.
