GPR/CCMC Registration

A training what students take before going to ship is called Pre-Sea Training. Pre-Sea Training includes GPR/ CCMC/OOCP and BASIC Courses.

General Purpose Rating (GPR)

GP Rating Course also known as General Purpose Rating is an entry level course to join merchant navy as a Deck or Engine Ratings

6 Months

Passport: All candidates must have a valid Indian Passport.
Education Qualification: Minimum 40% marks from a recognized Board with English, Science and Mathematics as subject in 10th/12th. Or
Minimum 40% marks from a recognized board 12th Standard (any stream) pass from government recognized board with 40% aggregate. English 40% at 10th / 12th but with subjects English, Mathematics and Science at 10th. Or
Pass in 2 year ITI Course (Fitter / Machinist / Mechanic / Welder / Turner) approved by DVET / NCVT with minimum 40% aggregate marks in final year of ITI & minimum 40% in English in 10th / 12th
Age Limit:
Between 17.5 and 25 years on the date of commencement of the course.
A relaxation of 5 years will be permitted in the upper age limit over and above the age limit prescribed above for candidates belonging to SC/ST of any part of country.
For candidates holding degree or diploma the maximum age limit would be 27 years.
A relaxation of three (3) years is permitted in the upper age-limit' over and above the age-limit stipulated for candidates belonging to Non-creamy layer of OBCs of any part of the country.

Certificate Course in Maritime Catering (CCMC)

Certificate Course in Maritime Catering Course also known as Saloon Rating Course is an entry level course to join merchant navy in catering as Cook, Steward or Housekeeping staff

6 Months

Passport: All candidates must have a valid Indian Passport.
Education Qualification:
Minimum 40% marks from a recognized Board with English, Science and Mathematics as subject in 10th/12th. or
Minimum 40% marks from a recognized board 12th Standard (any stream) pass from government recognized board with 40% aggregate. English 40% at 10th / 12th but with subjects English, Mathematics and Science at 10th. Age Limit:

Important:

  • Caution Money is applicable for INR 10000/- which is Refundable. In case of any breakage is done to the property of the institute, the maintenance charges will be deducted from Caution Money of the students.
  • Physical Standards: As per Merchant Shipping Medical Examination Rule 2000 and Merchant Shipping Medical Examination Amendment Rule 2016 as amended time to time. The ccandidates should be medically and physically fit. A full medical check-up through a Panel Doctor approved by D.G Shipping will be undertaken. A complete eyesight test will also be conducted in which the distance vision should be 6/6 with no colour blindness.
  • Admission Procedure: Through Entrance Test conducted at CMET Lucknow campus during April/May and October/November each year. (Please contact Booking Department for more information.) The CMET Panel shortlist the candidates for the final admission and these candidates are registered for admission. After registration, students complete the documentation, fee submission and other formalities of the admission procedure.
