GPR/CCMC Registration

A training what students take before going to ship is called Pre-Sea Training. Pre-Sea Training includes GPR/ CCMC/OOCP and BASIC Courses.

General Purpose Rating (GPR)

GP Rating Course also known as General Purpose Rating is an entry level course to join merchant navy as a Deck or Engine Ratings

Passport: All candidates must have a valid Indian Passport.
Education Qualification: Minimum 40% marks from a recognized Board with English, Science and Mathematics as subject in 10th/12th. Or
Minimum 40% marks from a recognized board 12th Standard (any stream) pass from government recognized board with 40% aggregate. English 40% at 10th / 12th but with subjects English, Mathematics and Science at 10th. Or
Pass in 2 year ITI Course (Fitter / Machinist / Mechanic / Welder / Turner) approved by DVET / NCVT with minimum 40% aggregate marks in final year of ITI & minimum 40% in English in 10th / 12th
Age Limit:
Between 17.5 and 25 years on the date of commencement of the course.
A relaxation of 5 years will be permitted in the upper age limit over and above the age limit prescribed above for candidates belonging to SC/ST of any part of country.
For candidates holding degree or diploma the maximum age limit would be 27 years.
A relaxation of three (3) years is permitted in the upper age-limit' over and above the age-limit stipulated for candidates belonging to Non-creamy layer of OBCs of any part of the country.

Certificate Course in Maritime Catering (CCMC)

Certificate Course in Maritime Catering Course also known as Saloon Rating Course is an entry level course to join merchant navy in catering as Cook, Steward or Housekeeping staff

6 Months

Passport: All candidates must have a valid Indian Passport.
Education Qualification:
Minimum 40% marks from a recognized Board with English, Science and Mathematics as subject in 10th/12th. or
Minimum 40% marks from a recognized board 12th Standard (any stream) pass from government recognized board with 40% aggregate. English 40% at 10th / 12th but with subjects English, Mathematics and Science at 10th. Age Limit:

Important:

  • Physical Standards: As per Merchant Shipping Medical Examination Rule 2000 and Merchant Shipping Medical Examination Amendment Rule 2016 as amended time to time. The ccandidates should be medically and physically fit. A full medical check-up through a Panel Doctor approved by D.G Shipping will be undertaken. A complete eyesight test will also be conducted in which the distance vision should be 6/6 with no colour blindness.
  • Admission Procedure: Through Entrance Test conducted at CMET Lucknow campus during April/May and October/November each year. (Please contact Booking Department for more information.) The CMET Panel shortlist the candidates for the final admission and these candidates are registered for admission. After registration, students complete the documentation, fee submission and other formalities of the admission procedure.

  • Caution Money:
  • Caution Money for INR 5000/- is Refundable to be paid with Part – II payment.
  • The Caution Money will be paid only in Cash and a separate fee receipt will be issued to the candidate. 
  • In case of any breakage is done to the property of the institute, the breakage charges will be deducted from Caution Money of the students and remaining Caution money will be refunded.
  • If the cost of breakage is more than the total Caution money amount paid then the extra amount other than the caution money amount paid will be charged to the candidate.
  • There will no adjustment of the Caution Money amount with any other Course Fee. The Caution Money shall be refunded separately based on the conditions above.
  • Seat Confirmation Policy:
  • Seat shall be confirmed ONLY after the Counselling Fee of INR 30,000/- is paid at the time of Course Booking. The MTI will confirm the seat once they receive confirmation of payment received from Accounts.
  • Seat shall be confirmed ONLY after the Medical is done and the course applicant is found Medically FIT for the course applied.
  • Cancellation & Refund Policy:
  • The Counselling Fee of INR 30,000/- is Non-Refundable if course is cancelled by the candidate after the confirmation of seat.
  • Candidates are advised not to cancel the course after the admission is confirmed and course is commenced. All candidates must report at the time and location given for confirmation of admission, failing to which seat shall be allotted to the waiting candidates.
  • If any candidate cancels the course for any reason after the confirmation of admission and commencement of course, the candidate is liable to pay the Course Fee in Full applicable at the time of booking before leaving the campus.
  • If any candidate cancels the course for any reason after the confirmation of admission, the course paid till date shall be forfeited.
  • Course Fee may be refunded if any candidate is found Medically Unfit. However, the Registration / Counselling Fee of INR 30,000/- shall not be refunded.
  • Late Fee Policy:
  • All candidates are advised to follow the schedule of payment in order to avoid late fee.
  • If any candidate does not pay Course Fee in Full before10th August 2025, Late Fee of INR 3000/- will be charged each month on the remaining course fee balance until its paid in full.
